The hands of an artist are special and the hands of an old artisan are even more so. Hagood mill in Pickens SC, hosts a variety of early amaerican artisans each 3rd Saturday of the month. This old gentleman was thereone weekend, carving the most intricate and naturally plumaged birds I've eve seen. Watching him at work became such a fascination that I never even thought to shoot any of his finished pieces.
