The Suber Mill in Greer, SC is still operating commercially nearly 100 years after it was built. The same family still runs it and produces a grade of corn meal that the local restaurants fight to get. The line is long each Wednesday as the cream of the local chefs vie for enough meal to meet there needs. The mill grinds corn for a week to provide for just that one day's worth of trade. Making high quality meal is by no means a a mass production operation. Grits and poultry feed are byproducts which make up the rest of their business.
