This machine is a small corn grinder, the business end of making cornmeal, grits and chicken feed. The wooden structure is a screen which separates the fine meal from the large particles. The larger particles are vibrated down the screen and mid sized pieces become grits while the large unground particles are shaken off at the end as feed for chickens.
