This shot had the potential to cause pain. Sitting just out of the picture was a freshly built engine for a new season of racing. Drag Racing crews are a secretive lot, not known for being genteel. Had I panned just a few degrees to the right, the ever watchful crew would have quickly become less than friendly. When I needed a shot of an engine for the Power PhotoImpact project, these guys were kind enough to allow me to shoot it as long as the new one was no where to be seen. The photo was monochromed to convey a feeling of raw power.
